Vegan Sweets Con Is Coming to Long Beach November 11
Extravagant desserts and delicious creations will abound at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach on November 11 for the Long Beach Vegan Festival’s first ever Vegan Sweets Con. This all-day event (from 11am-6pm) features treats from various vegan vendors, bakers, chefs, artisans, and chocolatiers.
Satiate that sweet tooth with samples, sales, and displays from over 30 vegan vendors, including 21 Grams Baked, Mama Chingona Vegana, Chayos Sweet Shenanigans, Unbelieva-bowl, Enjoying Earth and San Diego’s very own Maya’s Cookies, just to name a few. Don’t have much of a sweet tooth? No worries! Compton Vegan and Evolution Burger are both confirmed to be on site slinging their best savory dishes as well. For a complete and up to date list of vendors, please visit the event website.
In addition to all these tastings, they’ll be baking demos, book signings, and more. Nicole Allen of Baked Vegan Sweets will be presenting the secret to creating delicious vegan aquafaba meringue. Lauren Toyota, creator of the “Hot for Food” blog will be hosting a baking demo and having a book signing. Plus, Flower Bullock, creator of Stoner Girl Treats & Eats and founder of Stoner Girl Farm Sanctuary, will be leading an informational session on CBD uses and benefits.
Finally, there’ll also be a bake off. The Vegan Sweets Con Bake Off is open to any and all bakers. There will be two categories, classic chocolate chip and original recipe. All entrants to the competition will receive free VIP perks for the convention. If you think you have what it takes, there are currently still entry spaces available! Sign up here.
General admission tickets for the event are $15, and VIP is $40. Kids age 12 and under are free. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sale will be donated to Plant Based For All, a non-profit providing plant based meals for those in need and spreading the vegan message.
