Del Taco Introduces New Beyond Meat Burritos

Del Taco has recently announced that they are expanding their partnership with Beyond Meat to offer the brand’s vegan Beyond Beef crumbles protein option in two new signature protein-packed burritos—the Beyond 8 Layer Burrito and the Epic Beyond Cali Burrito (both of which can easily be altered to be made vegan). These are available at their 580+ locations across the nation.

Earlier this year, Del Taco became the first national Mexican fast food chain to add a 100 percent plant-based protein option to its menu, adding their easy-to-alter non-vegan Beyond Tacos (simply request no cheese for it to be vegan) and vegan as-is Beyond Avocado Tacos, of which they have since sold nearly two million.

“The enthusiasm shown by our fans during the first weeks of our Beyond Meat offerings was undeniable,” said John Cappasola, President and Chief Executive Officer of Del Taco. “To that end, we wanted to reward the passion being shown across social media and in our restaurants by utilizing our uniquely seasoned Beyond Meat recipe in two new protein-packed burritos.”

The new Beyond 8 Layer Burrito features Del Taco’s seasoned Beyond Meat crumbles layered with slow-cooked beans, guacamole, fresh diced tomatoes, lettuce, hand-grated cheddar cheese, red sauce, and sour cream in a warm, flour tortilla. Simply ask for no cheese or sour cream for it to be vegan. The Epic Beyond Cali Burrito consists of Del Taco’s seasoned Beyond Meat crumbles combined with their Crinkle-Cut Fries, sour cream, guacamole, and hand-made pico de gallo salsa in a warm, oversized flour tortilla. Simply ask for no sour cream for it to be vegan.

So head to your local Del Taco to try out some of these new plant-powered options.
