Maggie has been vegan for eight years. Maggie started VegOut LA as a small blog to show her family and friends that vegan options could be found at almost any restaurant. This blog evolved and now helps locals and tourists find options across Los Angeles, and other major cities across the US. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from Michigan State University (Go green!). Previously, she worked for AmeriCorps, Career Group, and Armanino LLP.
Joel was born and raised in Los Angeles and is genuinely happy to call Southern California home. He loves the city, but will never pass up an opportunity to be in nature. As a vegan for 10 years, Joel is passionate about helping grow the vegan movement and ensuring our community is inclusive, compassionate, and accepting to everyone. In addition to snapping photos and creating amazing graphics, he is VegOut LA’s official vegan burger taste tester.
Tammie is an expert at bringing play and kindness into life. A long-time vegan with a master’s degree in educational psychology, she is author of Outside the Lines: Essays on Poverty, Possibilities, and the Power of Love. Symphony is a Southern California native who is passionate about health and wellness. She enjoys writing, living in California, and sharing her vegan lifestyle. Symphony graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts in Jounralism.
John went vegan nine years ago on a bet from his mom and found his migraines disappeared as did a little extra weight. When he’s not at work you can find him in the kitchen whipping up original-recipe plant-based desserts. Chocolate Crème Pies, anyone?
Ryan is an all-over vegan foodie: he spends his days creating and writing about new recipes for a vegan recipe blog, No Eggs or Ham. When he’s not in the kitchen he’s probably playing drums, freelance modeling around LA, or trying other cooks’ vegan creations! He’s always looking to add value to people’s lives through extraordinary flavors, new adventures, and awareness of different perspectives.
